SIGNet is ACTA’s platform for clinical trial networks (CTNs) to exchange management and operations knowledge, expertise and resources.
Mission:
SIGNet’s mission is to support and advocate for CTN managers, thereby optimising operational management of CTNs and supporting the delivery of high-quality clinical research.
Purpose:
SIGNet provides a forum for executive officers, network managers and CTN representatives to share knowledge and expertise, identify issues, exchange information, and engage in collaborative problem-solving.
ACTA seeks to engage CTNs in Australia through SIGNet meetings, ACTA events, sharing resources and providing advice and support to newly forming or established CTNs. In the longer term, ACTA aims to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trial network management and governance.
Actions:
SIGNet convenes three times a year to:
- provide a professional network for CTN managers
- facilitate information-sharing and mentoring of new managers
- provide an opportunity for managers to share insights on successful activities and to identify solutions to problems
- provide updates from the sector and to receive updates from ACTA.
SIGNet also develops resources to assist CTN operations and management (see below) and runs regular professional development webinars and workshops for members.
