Short Courses - Health Economics - The University of Melbourne - August 2016

The Health Economics Group, Centre for Health Policy, Melbourne School of Population & Global Health at The University of Melbourne are running two short courses on Health Economics.

 

  • Introduction to Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in Health. The one day course provides participants with an understanding of how economic analysis can be used to evaluate health programs and aid decision making. No previous knowledge is required. The course will consist of short lectures, case studies and practical exercises and is designed for policy makers, clinicians, researchers, managers and others working in the health sector.

  • Designing Economic Evaluation Alongside Clinical Studies. This one-day course provides an overview of economic evaluation alongside randomised controlled trials and other studies, with a particular focus on the design and practical aspects. A combination of lectures and practical exercises will be used and the program will end with a workshop of selected case studies. The course is designed for researchers undertaking trials, investigators, managers and other involved in clinical trials.
