Workshop – Platform Trial Design - Saturday 7th May 2016

Platform Trial Workshop – Monash University Saturday 7th May 2016 - Early Bird registration closes 4th April 2016

A 1-day workshop on Platform Trials is being held at Monash University, Alfred Centre in Melbourne on Saturday 7th May 2016.

A Platform Trial is a novel and innovative trial design that is highly adaptive and utilises frequent Bayesian interim analyses to evaluate multiple research questions simultaneously so as to answer as many questions as possible, as quickly as possible, from the available sample size.  Platform Trials offer particular advantages with respect to embedding clinical trials within routine healthcare delivery.

The workshop will be of interest to statisticians, clinical trialists, and anyone involved in the design and analysis of clinical trials.

A component of the Workshop is an interactive session in which delegates have the opportunity to present a trial that they are planning or designing.  These presentations will be used to illustrate the principles of how a Platform Trial design could be utilised in your study.

If you have a trial proposal that you would like to be considered for presentation and discussion please submit a brief description of your trial (maximum around 200 words) to Genevieve O'Neill.  The organisers will select 3 or 4 trials for discussion and presentation, and will liaise with the delegate(s) associated with the selected trials in the weeks before the workshop
