Network managers join forces in new ACTA Special Interest Group

Topics:Registries

ACTA’s newest Special Interest Group has a catchy name: “SIGNet”, and it held its inaugural meeting on 18 October 2018.

SIGNet provides a collaborative and knowledge sharing forum for clinical trials network managers, and participants from 12 of the 20 trials networks that registered an interest in joining SIGNet attended its first meeting.

If you are a network manager and haven’t heard about SIGNet, or you are keen to see who’s already involved, read on and let us know if you would like to join the Group.

The inaugural meeting included preliminary discussions around the new group’s objectives, values and governance. Preliminary objectives include:

*A united ‘voice’ advocating for CTN Managers’ priorities

*Collaborative problem solving and knowledge sharing amongst network managers who largely work in isolation from each other

* Informal comparison of processes to enable new and established network managers to identify best and effective practice

Looking forward to the many collaborative opportunities the new Group offers, attendees thanked ACTA for making it happen and several expressed interest in being part of the SIGNet Executive.

The Group will meet again on 30 November at a special session on Day Two of the ACTA Summit at the University of Sydney Business School. Members felt that this face-to-face meeting would be a good opportunity to establish a strategic plan, to interact with other members and begin to form an Executive.
