National Medical Stockpile: Supply of experimental medicines to support clinical trials

Topics:Advocacy COVID-19

As part of the Commonwealth Government’s response to COVID-19, the National Medical Stockpile (NMS) will secure supply of a number of experimental medicines for use in clinical trials, when those medicines cannot be obtained through usual supply chains.

ACTA will assist the NMS with determining whether supply of a stockpiled medicine should be released to a specific trial.

Currently, the NMS has a supply of hydroxychloroquine and invites investigators who may be interested in securing supply from the NMS to contact the NMS through margaret.noris@health.gov.au

Following this initial contact, the Department of Health will provide advice on further information that is required.

There is no closing date for applications as such, but for this initial round, investigators are asked to contact the Department by COB Friday 14 May.
