ACTA Submission: Senate Community Affairs Legislation Committee Inquiry into the Medical Research Future Fund Bill 2015

The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) is a major initiative of the Federal Government to establish a publicly-owned perpetual endowment fund.  The Fund will build to $20 billion in available funding to 2025, eventually delivering $1 billion in annual funding for health and medical research per annum.  The MRFF Bill was introduced into Parliament on 27 May and referred to the Senate for inquiry on 22 June following the acceptance of consequential amendments.

ACTA's submission to the inquiry is available to view here.

We hope to have the opportunity to give evidence on behalf of the sector during the public hearing program for the inquiry and look forward to providing our community with an update on the Committee's report when it is handed down on the 10th August.

Copies of the MRFF Bill including the amendments and explanatory memorandum, along with copies of all submissions made to the inquiry, are available on the Parliament of Australia website.
