Thank you to the ANZICS network and organisers of the 22nd Annual Meeting on Clinical Trials in Intensive Care for inviting ACTA to present on Consumer Involvement in Research. ACTA was represented by Nicola Straiton, the Senior Project Officer central to the development of the ACTA and CT:IQ Consumer Involvement and Engagement Toolkit, a resource for clinical trials seeking to involve consumers in the design and implementation of clinical trials.
The session was diverse and engaging, discussing how consumers can be active partners in the research journey at an organisational level (e.g. advisory panels, board members) and at the individual trial level (e.g. priority setting and trial design).
ACTA looks forward to collaborating with ANZICS and other networks in the future to support sustainable approaches to consumer involvement.
