Support for Clinicians and Researchers in establishing Clinical Trial Networks
The Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) Clinical Trials Network Sector Expansion Reference Group will be running this workshop.
The purpose of this workshop is to support Clinicians and Researchers who are interested in or have begun the process of establishing a Clinical Trial Network (CTN) and to provide an update on a range of emerging groups in the clinical trial sector.
Workshop aims
- Develop an understanding of the role of the Australian Clinical Trial Alliance (ACTA) in supporting new and emerging Clinical Trial Network groups (CTNs).
- Develop an understanding of the structure, organisation and financing of a CTN.
- Develop an understanding of the benefits and risks of establishing a CTN and different CTN models.
- Allow participants to ask questions to an expert panel from emerging and established groups.
- Give participants the opportunity to learn about other emerging and established CTN groups and to share information and resources.
The workshop will cover the benefits and risks of CTNs, and different models of CTNs. Updates will be given on new and emerging CTN groups in Mental Health, Primary Care, Surgical Students, and Eye Research. Learnings and challenges will be shared. This will be followed by a moderated discussion with the speakers.
