ACTA STInG Webinar: The target trial framework for causal inference: a primer

This talk will provide an introduction to the target trial framework for causal inference, which is applicable across a range of observational studies including registers and observational analyses of randomised trials (e.g. in the presence of non-adherence). The framework is a powerful and intuitive tool to guide the planning, conduct and interpretation of causal analyses, which has led to its increased popularity. This talk will describe what the framework entails, how it relates to other frameworks, as well as outline its advantages and limitations.

Presenter

She established an internationally recognised hub of innovation and expertise in statistical methods for observational studies, supported by competitive fellowship and grant funding. Her team conducts methodological research in causal inference and missing data while contributing their expertise to health research studies. She is steering group member for the Victorian Centre for Biostatistics (Chair), the LifeCourse platform of cohort studies, and the Master of Biostatistics at The University of Melbourne.
