Register for the Australasian Nursing and Midwifery Clinical Trials Network’s April Webinar | Progressing adaptive platform trials: The IVCare Adaptive Platform Trial
The IVCare Adaptive Platform Trial is a new national, multi-centre clinical trial platform focused on preventing central line associated bloodstream infections in patients requiring central venous access devices.
Using an adaptive platform trial design, IVCare will efficiently evaluate multiple infection prevention interventions over time within a single overarching protocol, allowing new interventions to be added as evidence and clinical priorities evolve.
The IVCare trial aims to evaluate a range of infection-prevention interventions (e.g., connectors, securement devices, access-cleaning devices, locks) for their ability to prevent CLABSI in hospitals across Australia, with the potential to expand to other countries in the future. As the study progresses, more effective interventions can be tested in a greater number of participants, while less effective options may be reduced or removed, improving the efficiency and impact of clinical research.
Join us to learn how adaptive platform trials enable multiple interventions to be evaluated simultaneously within a single, ongoing trial framework.
