Associate Professor Micah Peters PhD is the Inaugural National Policy Research Adviser and Director of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) Federal Office's National Policy Research Unit based in the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre (RBRC), UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences.
Micah works in partnership with Australia’s largest professional association and union and a range of academic and industry stakeholders, Micah leads a diverse program of policy research and industry-engaged projects that supports and empowers nurses, midwives, and carers to improve the health and well-being of all Australians safely and effectively. This work focusses on:
- Delivery of safe, meaningful, high-quality care.
- Personal and professional safety in the workplace.
- Enhancing the awareness and impact of nursing, midwifery, and carers in research, policy, and practice.
Micah is recognised internationally as a leading expert in evidence synthesis methodology. He is actively involved in developing and updating evidence synthesis guidelines for scoping reviews and rapid reviews. Micah is a respected policy adviser and researcher who has influenced local, national, and international clinical practice and workforce guidelines as well as Commonwealth Government legislation and policy in aged care, nursing workforce, and infection prevention and control for COVID-19.
