In June 2017, with a $5 million Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant to the Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA), the Australian Government demonstrated its clear commitment to supporting health and medical research focused on improving patient outcomes and advancing evidence-based healthcare.
Funding history
The first tranche of seed funding to support ACTA’s establishment was provided by the Victorian Department of Health in June 2013. A second tranche of consolidation funding was provided by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services in 2016. We acknowledge the vision and leadership shown by Victoria in helping to establish ACTA as a national resource.
In February 2015, the Western Australia Department of Health announced vital seed funding to support ACTA's development in collaboration with Victoria as a matched contribution.
We gratefully acknowledge the generous support of Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine within the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences for providing in-kind support ACTA's national office from our foundation through to the beginning of 2018.
