Samantha Bates is the Critical Care Research Nurse Manager at Western Health. She manages a team of dedicated clinical research nurses who facilitate and coordinate research projects across the Departments of Intensive Care, Cardiology, Anaesthesia, Pain & Perioperative Medicine. She has an extensive clinical background in intensive care nursing, and has been coordinating research trials for over 20 years. Sam has worked on a variety of research projects from small investigator-initiated projects, device innovation projects, healthcare sustainability projects, as well as international, sponsored industry trials. In particular she has collaborated on many large investigator initiated clinical trial network studies, many of which have been influential, landmark trials in critical care.
